Sports injuries

Even though we take preventative measures injuries still happen, shoulder, knee, and ankle injuries are very common, but one of the worst cases possible for an athlete is a concussion. A violent blow to the head or neck can cause your brain to hit the skull walls. The brain has the consistency of gelatin, so it gets irritated very easily. Some side effects of a concussion include: nausea and vomiting, balance problems, dizziness, and consistent or temporary headaches. When playing contact sports or just sports where there is a risk of falling and hitting your head, it’s important to wear a helmet.

Every sport you enjoy playing or watching comes with tons of different injury and safety risks. Here are the most common injuries per sport:

  • Basketball-Sprained Ankle

  • Volleyball-Joint sprains in the hand

  • Football-Hamstring strains

  • Hockey-Concussion

  • Soccer-Sprained Knee

  • Ringette-Soft Tissue injuries
